FIRMM - Foundation for information and research on marine mammals

Firmm (foundation for information and research on marine mammals) represents a foundation which actively contributes to the protection of whales and dolphins and thus to ocean’s wildlife. There are research stations and meeting places between humans and animals at different sites. In particular this foundation contributes to research projects at the Strait of Gibraltar, one of the most used ocean lanes and also the home of a lot of whales and dolphins. Usually there are dolphins, big tumblers and pilot whales, sometimes also orcas, pot whales and fin whales which are passing through the Bay of Gibraltar. There are a lot of research projects, marine biological excursions and also respectful whale-watching in order to handle animals fairly.
